Fishing Outlook: In the shadow of yesterday’s high flows, flow rates are on the decline and clarity is on the rise. We should be seeing prime flows within a few days. In the meantime staying subsurface and having a  healthy variety of flies is ideal. Streamers along with larger heavier nymphs, and more hatch worthy nymph patterns will allow you to cover all the bases as the water clears and flows decrease. Fish are still likely along to bank, so approach the water with care and don’t hesitate to fish at your feet. Weather outlook looks beautiful with sunny skies and increasing temperatures, lasting until Friday. Definitely get out and hit the Ausable for trout, and don’t hesitate to check out your favorite bass spot. Season is open and fish are hungry. Water is high but temps are good and fish are there. Target along the bank, and fish at your feet. During high water fish search for slower water along the banks. Bigger and darker streamer patterns such as olive wooly buggers and big sparkle minnows are the best bet. Nymphing with larger nymph patterns such as mops and stones are the best option. Weather outlook looks beautiful with sunny skies and increasing temperatures.
