Current Shop Announcements: We are now open full time, 9am to 5pm, 7 days a week! We had an absolute overhaul in our fly selection adding dozens and dozens of new patterns and almost doubling our selection. Major upgrade! – We had an awesome snow year and the mountains have a great snowpack this season which will keep the flow moving into the spring. Keep in mind that the occasional snow storm and freezing rain are common here in April so keep safety in mind when wading! The last few winters we haven’t been so lucky. This year we are pumped! This is really going to help the June routine.
Promo: Book your JUNE guide trip before May 15 and get $25 dollars of store credit per day of guiding! Applicable to all retail goods in house.
Hatches: Early brown stone
Hot Flies: Dry Flies: B.W.O Parachute 18-22, Elk Hair Caddis 18-22 (Black), Hendrickson Parachutes 10-14, Dark Hendrickson 10-14 Nymphs: Black Stoneflies 12-16, Girdle Bug Coffee, Black: 10-12 Pheasant tail 12-18, Prince Nymph: 12-18, Copper Johns: 12-18, Perdigons: 12-18 Caddis Pupa’s: 12-18, Sexy Waltz Worms: 12-18, Duracell Jig 12-18 (Darker colors) Streamers: Dark colored Wooly Buggers (Olive or Black preference), Sparkle Minnow Conehead, Articulated Sparkle Minnows and JIG, classic Mickey Finns and Grey Ghosts, Dhali Lama (olive and brown), Galloup’s Dungeon (mini and regular sized, black, olive, and brown).
Fishing Outlook: Flows are high, be sure to keep safety in mind while wading. With current flow levels streamer fishing can be extremely effective when picking pools and pocket water apart. Wait for warmer, clear days where the water will warm mid day for trout to be on the move. They will still be lethargic but we pick up decent fish early season. Heavy, dark color flies have been remaining consistent. With the first of the Stone, Caddis and Mayflies starting to emerge on sunny, warmer days recently, dry flies will be more consistent with the coming days.
